The High Altitude Classic is Race #2 in the New Mexico Off Road

Cross Country Race Sunday April 29 2007
The cross country portion
of this Norba sanctioned event (www.usacycling.org) starts and finishes in the
heart of downtown Cloudcroft. Racers quickly depart the historic streets of
the Village into the lush trails of the Lincoln National Forest.
The 9 mile loop consists of Challenging single-track, rail road grades, and
forest roads with elevations ranging from 8,000 ft. to 8,900 ft. (See map for more info.)
Down Hill Race Saturday
May 5th (pre ride) Sunday May 6th (race day)
The Downhill portion of
the High Altitude Classic is held at Ski Cloudcroft. (Two miles East of
Cloudcroft on HWY 82) This exciting race is a timed event taking racers
through tight single-track from top to bottom with lots of jumps and stunts
along the way. Racers can pre-ride Sat. May 5th from 12-4 pm. $ 10.00 lift
tickets. Non-Norba licensed racers must also purchase a $5.00 one day
License. Must be registered to pre-ride. This is a very spectator friendly
event, so bring the family and enjoy a day of thrills and spills! Lift
tickets for non racers only $5.00 or hike up for free. Mustard's Last Stand
Restaurant will be open for lunch.
